Roxana Ene, voice

Of Romani origin, Roxana was born in Romania and raised in Rome, where she began and developed her artistic journey. A singer, choir director, music educator, and actress, she is actively involved in a wide range of dynamic musical projects, including Roma Nostra and I Neri di Troia, and has collaborated with many distinguished artists such as Nando Citarella, Sara Modigliani, Lucilla Galeazzi, Vanessa Cremaschi, Badarà Seck, Assalti Frontali, Moni Ovadia, Lorenzo Gioielli, the Bartolini/Baronio Theatre Company, and many others.

Her career has also brought her to television, with appearances on programs such as The Voice of Italy and X Factor Romania. She is currently the director of the multicultural choir Romolo Balzani and co-director of the multicultural children’s choir Voce di Roma. She is also continuing her musical training in Traditional Music at the Alfredo Casella Conservatory.

Giulia Anita Bari, violin

She studied classical violin at the “B. Marcello” Conservatory in Venice, while simultaneously earning a degree in International Relations and Human Rights Philosophy at the University of Padua, and in European Union Law at the University of Florence. She has worked with numerous international organizations and NGOs in Italy and abroad (including UNHCR, ActionAid, Oxfam, MEDU, SCI, and Terra!), combining her musical path with hands-on humanitarian fieldwork.

She founded the Orchestra dei Braccianti, involving migrant workers living in the sulms situated in south of Italy. The project was presented at TEDx and featured on the stages of the most important Italian world music festivals. She has also collaborated for many years with classical orchestras and ensembles in Italy and internationally, working with artists such as Albanian singer Elsa Lila, Renato Zero, Israel Varela, the Rome Jazz String Orchestra, the Federico Pascucci Cinematic Ensemble, and others.

She’s one of the founder of Nubras.

Carla Mulas González, violin

She is a classically trained violinist who graduated from the Valencia Conservatory and later expanded her work into flamenco, Latin jazz, tango, and traditional music. After collaborating with top Cuban musicians in Spain and performing with the flamenco group Reina Roja, she moved to Italy, where she teaches violin in Rome and works extensively with orchestras and contemporary ensembles.

She has recorded over 25 albums, composed music for film, collaborated with major Italian artists, and co-founder of Nubras and the Flirtango Quartet.

Giorgio Gadotti, alto sax e gajda

He holds a diploma in alto saxophone from the Siena Jazz University, where he specialized in jazz under the guidance of Maurizio Giammarco. A versatile multi-instrumentalist, he began his musical path on guitar before expanding to accordion and later devoting himself fully to the saxophone during an extended stay abroad between India and Cuba, where he studied Cuban percussion and saxophone with renowned masters. n recent years, he has focused on Balkan and Eastern Mediterranean musical traditions, collaborating with leading musicians across Eastern Europe and studying Ottoman classical music and ney. He is co-founder of the Nubras Ensemble and an active member of several projects blending jazz, world music, and Mediterranean folk traditions.

Nino Conte, accordeon

Nino Conte began studying the accordion in Naples in 2008 and soon developed a strong presence in the fields of traditional, Balkan, and jazz manouche music. Since 2011, he has performed in numerous theatrical productions and folk music events, collaborating—despite his young age—with leading artists such as Marcello Colasurdo, Daniele Sepe, Trio Tarantae, E Zezi, and many others. He has appeared at major festivals across Italy and Europe, including the Adriatico Mediterraneo Festival, Roccella Jazz Festival, Procida Culture Festival, and the Musincka Balkan Festival.

Igor Legari, double bass

Originally from Calimera (Lecce) and now based in Rome, Igor is a double bass and electric bass player whose musical roots blend Southern Italian folk traditions with global music, Afrobeat, jazz, classical influences, and protest songs. He holds a diploma in Jazz Music from the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, a Master’s degree in Jazz Improvisation from Siena Jazz, and a degree in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Salento.

He is an active performer, composer, and educator, teaching bass, jazz improvisation, and ensemble performance in several music schools in Rome, and has also taught at the F. Morlacchi Conservatory in Perugia. He is involved in numerous original projects across the Italian jazz and experimental scene and was a long-time member of the improvisation collective Franco Ferguson.

Giovanni Lo Cascio, percussions

He trained at the Berklee College of Music and studied Ethnomusicology at La Sapienza University in Rome. As a composer and performer, he has collaborated with major international artists across music, theatre, and cinema, including George Garzone, Hector Zazou, Alexander Balanescu, Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares, Luis Bacalov, and many leading figures of Italian theatre and film.

He has performed extensively in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North and South America, recorded over 50 albums, composed film scores, and worked regularly for theatre. He has also been active as an educator at several institutions. He founded and directed the Juakali Drummers project and later served as musical director of the Slum Drummers of Nairobi, performing internationally with them.
