NUBRAS Ensemble stands out as one of the most captivating acts in Italy’s world music scene and is the winner of the Ethnos Generazioni Award 2025.

Formed by musicians from Italy, Spain, and Romania, the ensemble weaves together the refined elegance of chamber music and the vital energy of Southern Italian and Balkan folk traditions, crafting a soundscape where ancient roots meet contemporary creativity.

In 2026, the Ensemble released NUBRAS, its first album of original compositions. The album was included in the Longlist 3/2025 of the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik (German Record Critics’ Award), one of Europe’s most prestigious distinctions recognizing the artistic excellence of recorded music productions.

It’s special project BULGARIAN ROUTES – with the Bulgarian ensemble featuring Borislav Galabov, gadulka player with the Bulgarian National Radio Folk Orchestra, Diyana Vasileva, voice of the Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices choir, and Kiril Belezhkov, kaval flute virtuoso – was supported by: Music Moves Europe program, the Bulgarian Istitute of Culture in Rome, the Italian Istitute for Culture in Sofia.

The project was recorded live for the prestigious program La Stanza della Musica on RAI RADIO TRE, the Italian National Radio.

In just a few years, Nubras has performed at dozens of important venues, including the Accademia Chigiana, one of the most prestigious venue for classical music in Italy, Sponz Festival, curated by the famous Italian singer Vinicio Capossela, Suq Festival, Earthbeat Festival, Folkest, Adriatico Mediterraneo, Roccella Jazz, Napoli World, the Museum of Music in Bologna and Rome, Alkantara Festival, etc.
