NUBRAS Ensemble stands out as one of the most captivating acts in Italy’s world music scene and is the winner of the Ethnos Generazioni Award 2025.
Formed by musicians from Italy, Spain, and Romania, the ensemble weaves together the refined elegance of chamber music and the vital energy of Southern Italian and Balkan folk traditions, crafting a soundscape where ancient roots meet contemporary creativity. In 2026, the ensemble will release its third album, the group’s first album consisting entirely of original compositions.

In just a few years, Nubras has performed at dozens of important venues, including the Accademia Chigiana, one of the most prestigious venue for classical music in Italy, Sponz Festival, curated by the famous Italian singer Vinicio Capossela, Suq Festival, EarthbeatFestival, Folkest, Adriatico Mediterraneo, Roccella Jazz, Napoli World, the Museum of Music in Bologna and Rome, AlkantaraFestival, etc.

BULGARIAN ROUTES
In 2023, Nubras won the Culture Moves Europe grant and recorded its first album, Bulgarian Routes, in Bulgaria, collaborating with three outstanding Bulgarian musicians: Borislav Galabov, gadulka player in the Bulgarian National Radio Ensemble; Dyiana Vasileva, singer of the renowned choir Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices; and Kiril Belezhkov, virtuoso kaval player. The 10 musicians project was presented at RaiRadio 3, H/Earthbeat festival in Florence and Sala Biavati in Rome.
Recorded in 2024 at the Coni Stella Art Studio in Rome, Live in Rome features original compositions, some of which include the voices of Roxana Ene and Yasemin Sannino, Italian-Turkish singer and actress, as well as Giacomo Serino on trumpet.
